How to pay at Tiger Taekwon-Do
We want payment to be Clear, Fair, and Flexible, for all Whanau. This page Explains your options and how whanau discounts and card payment work
Our Two Payment Options
You can choose whichever option suits your whānau.
Option 1: Bank transfer (best value)
- This is our standard price
- No processing fees
- Details are shown on your invoice
Recommended for:
Whānau groups, term payments, and annual payments.
Option 2: Card payment (via Stripe)
- Fast and convenient
- Works on mobile and desktop
- Includes a small transaction fee charged by Stripe
- Recommended for transactions less than $100
Stripe charges us a processing fee for card payments.
To keep things fair, this cost is only added when Stripe is used.
We don’t profit from Stripe fees. They simply cover the cost of card processing.
Why Stripe Payments May Differ from the Invoice Total
Whānau Discounts (membership fees only)
Your invoice always shows our standard (bank transfer) price.
If you choose to pay by card:
- A small Stripe transaction fee is added
- The Stripe total may be slightly higher than the invoice total
This ensures whānau who pay by bank transfer are not subsidising card fees for others.
Whānau Discounts (membership fees only)
We offer a simple and transparent whānau discount.
- First whānau member:standard membership price
- Second whānau member:$5 off per month
- Third whānau member:$10 off per month
- Fourth whānau member:$15 off per month
- Works across all classes (Kubz, Mini Kids, Juniors Plus)
- Applies to membership fees only
- Automatically included on your invoice
Registration fees, gradings, uniforms, and equipment are not discounted.
Two members, different classes
- Juniors Plus ($85) + Mini Kids ($72) = $157
- Family discount = $5
- Bank transfer:$152
Three members, different classes
- Mini Kids ($72) + Juniors Plus ($85) + Juniors Plus ($85) = $242
- Discount = $10
- Bank transfer:$232
How Whānau Payments Work with Stripe
- When more than one whānau member is training:
- We calculate your whānau-discounted membership total
- We apply one Stripe feeto the combined amount
- We round sensibly and send one Stripe payment link
This avoids multiple transaction fees and keeps payments fair and simple.
Starter Packs
For new students, we offer Starter Packs that combine common items into one payment.
Starter Packs:
- simplify the first month
- reduce multiple payments
- include a single Stripe fee if paying by card

What You’ll Receive
Depending on your situation, you may receive:
- a Xero invoice (bank transfer prices shown)
- a Stripe payment link (if paying by card)
- both, for clarity
This is intentional and helps keep pricing transparent.
