How Long does it Takes Kids to Earn Their First Taekwon-Do Belt ?

Kubz (4–6 years)
How long does it take to earn their first stripe? For our Kubz, the journey is gentle and playful. Most take a 10- to 12-week term, or longer, to feel ready. At this age, we focus on settling in, learning routines, building confidence, and celebrating small wins. Their first stripe isn’t rushed–it arrives when they’re showing focus, kindness, and the courage to try. Every step is a big step at this age.

Mini Kids (7 and 8 years) When do they usually get their first stripe? Mini Kids often earn their first stripe in 9–12 weeks, depending on attendance and confidence. At this stage, they’re ready for more structure: simple blocks, stances, basic self-defence, theory, and good listening skills. Some take a little longer, which is perfectly normal. We’re building strong habits, not racing to colours.

Juniors Plus (9+ years)
How fast can they reach their first stripe? Most Juniors Plus students earn their first belt in three to four months. They pick up skills quickly and enjoy clear teaching and routines. But we still look for one thing above all: readiness. Confidence,
