How Long does it Takes Kids to Earn Their First Tiger Taekwon-Do Belt ?
🌼 A Warm Welcome
What happens in a trial class depends a little on which group you join and what we’ve planned for that evening. But no matter the class, we always begin the same way–with a friendly, formal greeting and a few moments to settle in. This helps new students feel safe, calm, and ready to learn.
🤸♂️ Moving and Learning Together
We ease into a gentle warm-up to prepare bodies for training. Sometimes it will be hilarious and loud because we like to have fun in the warm-up. Most of the lesson is devoted to skill learning–simple, achievable movements taught step by step. Depending on the night, we may also take time to explore an aspect of our value system, because training the mind is just as important as training the body.
With two to four assistant instructors on hand, we often divide into smaller groups so students can learn at the right pace and feel well supported.
🌿 Finishing Well
We end with a cool-down, a final bow, and any notices for whānau.
If your child came along for a trial, what would you hope they notice or feel in their very first class?
